Kazakh boxer Nurkanat Raiys fought his first fight at the 2023 World Boxing Championship in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) , Sports.kz reports.

In the 1/16 finals in the weight category up to 75 kilograms, Rayys met with the Dominican Virgilio de los Santos Delgado and defeated him by unanimous decision of the judges, while in the first round the Kazakhstani was knocked down.

Thus, Nurkanat Rayys successfully started at the world championship in Tashkent. We add that Raiys is the silver medalist of the 2022 Asian Championship. He also became the second quarter-finalist in the Kazakhstan national team at the 2023 World Cup: earlier, Serik Temirzhanov (57 kg) provided himself with participation in the 1/4 finals.
