The Kazakhstan Boxing Federation (KFS) has filed an official complaint against the President of the International Boxing Association (IBA) Umar Kremlev in connection with the scandalous decision of the judges in the fight between Saken Bibosynov at the World Boxing Championship in Tashkent, Tengri Sport reports citing the KFS press service .
“We are waiting for a response from the leadership of the IBA,” the federation said. The press service noted that, unfortunately, according to the current rules, filing a protest (appeal) is not allowed. An alternative is the procedure for reviewing the decision of the judges if the fight ends with a score of 3:2 or 2:3. In other cases, there is no revision.Recall that 25-year-old Bibosynov, who is the 2021 world champion and the 2020 Olympic bronze medalist, was considered one of the leaders of the Kazakhstan team at the 2023 World Cup. However, in the first fight in the 1/16 finals in the weight category up to 51 kilograms, the Kazakhstani lost to Deepak Kumar from India by a split decision of the judges. Many fans considered such a verdict unfair.
